ABIDE: Learning to Wait Well
Abiding isn’t just our word for May, it’s a choice to make daily:
It’s staying connected to God even when life feels unclear.
It’s not walking away just because it’s uncomfortable.
It’s trusting Him even when you don’t see anything changing yet.
I’ll be honest… I’ve had seasons where I tried to rush what God was still working on. I wanted answers fast. I wanted things to fall into place quicker. I thought if I just pushed a little harder, it would all come together. But it didn’t. It didn’t work out for my good… and it definitely wasn’t God’s will. What I’ve learned is this, when you move ahead of God, you end up carrying things He never asked you to hold. What changed for me was choosing to let go. Not halfway. Not sometimes. Fully. I started giving God everything, my ministry, friendships, my relationships, my family, my finances, my decisions, my healing, my control, even my need to forgive. I stopped trying to manage it all myself and started trusting God with it. And that’s where peace came in.
April may have been about executing and moving, but May is about remaining. Just because you started something doesn’t mean you abandon it when it gets hard. I used to think waiting meant nothing was happening. Now I know better. God is doing real work in the waiting. He’s working on your heart. He’s aligning things you can’t see. He’s preparing you for what you asked for. Waiting isn’t wasted time. It’s a necessary time. What do you do in your waiting season? Do you rush? Do you try to fix everything yourself? Do you get frustrated and step outside of God? Or do you stay?
This month, don’t just move. Abide. Stay. Remain. What God has for you will come, but it will come in His timing, not your pressure.
